Frequently Asked Questions at myFloodZone.com

How do I find out if I'm located in a Flood Zone?
There's only one (1) way to know for sure; and that is with a Certified Flood Zone Determination.

How long does it take to get my Flood Report?
In most cases you'll get your product in 30-60 minutes, but there's always a chance it may take longer.

Why don't you use an automated system with instant results like other sites?
Answer 1: The automated flood "Risk-o-Meter" sites do not provide you with a Certified Flood Zone Determination in the required FEMA format... We do!

Answer 2: Accuracy!!! Is 30-60 minutes really to long to wait? We didn't think so. We perform all of our Flood Zone Determinations manually... the method suggested by industry experts.

At myFloodZone.com every order goes to a skilled Flood Map Analyst, where they prepare your report by hand, visually examining the most current maps and data available.

Who is qualified to perform a flood zone determination?
For the most part, ONLY flood zone determination companies (like myFloodZone.com™) are qualified to perform such an important service. And, if you check around, we are the only FZD firm exclusively catering to, and willing to serve the private sector. Realtors, appraisers, and others in the real estate industry are definitely NOT qualified, nor are their findings guaranteed (like ours!).

Are your services guaranteed?
Absolutely! When placing your order, make sure you enter the correct physical address as this this type of error will void the guarantee.

There's no way I'm in a flood zone so why should I order?
First of all, the ONLY way to KNOW if you are in a flood zone is to perform a flood zone determination using FEMA flood maps or the Digital data equivalent. Some people who think it's impossible that THEY could be in a flood zone get one heck of a surprise. Every single year people just like you find out the hard way that you don’t need to live on the banks of a raging river, or in a valley, to be financially destroyed by even a small flood.

If I order today, how long will it take to receive my Flood Zone Certification?
Generally, we will complete the flood determination in about 30-60 minutes and you should receive it the same day.

How much does it cost?
Please view our Products page.

What if I discover that I'm actually in a flood zone?
We suggest that you contact your lender (if you're still paying on your mortgage), and your insurance agent (not necessarily in that order)

If  I'm not in a flood zone, is flood insurance still available?
Yes. It's quite affordable and should be considered. Even though you're not in a flood zone, your home could fall victim to flood as a result of severe weather conditions coupled with poor drainage in your community, your neighborhood, or even on your property. If this occurs, your normal homeowners or renters policy will not cover the loss. Only flood insurance will protect you from flood related damage.
